For the reflection portion of this I read Casey and Sam's blogs. Casey did a great job of doing research on the author of each article which I think is pretty important in order to deem whether or not an article is credible. Sam did a great job of finding different sources and summarizing them. For my own I think I did a pretty okay job with analyzing and summarizing each article but I would maybe do a little more research on the author and context.
Firstly, I really like how you organized your evaluation. Very easy to read. I am fairly unfamiliar with your topics, but I believe you have three solid sources. I find the article "The Voice of Maigret and the Art of the Audiobook" to be of most interesting rhetoric. I read through this source and enjoyed the author's enthusiasm. I believe the any author that can write with that sense of enthusiasms can present an argument well. On the other hand, the one of the least rhetoric interest would be the "Audiobooks, the Next Big Thing." This source incorporated too much subjective opinion. I know its a opinionated debate platform, but I just didnt really like how she presented her argument. Good luck on project 2!
ReplyDeleteThese are some really great sources! I had the tiniest bit of background knowledge on this subject, but after reading these three articles I can tell you definitely have a lot of culture and information to use for your project. I agree with Isaak that the third option has the most character to it, although the first option is a close second. I have never really encountered an article from the perspective of the narrators of audible books, and it was pretty surreal to hear the voice of the real person behind the voice. The second option has an overwhelming amount of information that I think will definitely be useful for general information, but it has less rhetorical possibilities. For your project, if you're headed towards talking about the recordings themselves, I think it would be an interesting perspective to pick the article from the writer's or narrator's perspective. Good luck!
